Trust standards
The exact rules our team follows when adding, verifying, ranking, and removing businesses. Written in plain language so anyone -- consumer, business owner, regulator -- can hold us to them.
What we accept as a listing
Listings come from one of four sources: an owner who submitted their own business, a manual entry by our team for a known professional, a properly licensed CSV import, or a public certification / state-license registry such as ACAC, IICRC, InterNACHI, TX TDLR, NY DOL, and the EPA Lead-Safe Certified Firm directory.
We never auto-generate businesses to fill gaps. If a city has zero real mold pros, the page says so and prompts a homeowner request instead.
Every listing carries the data source on the public profile. Anyone can see exactly where the row came from.
What the verified badge means
A verified badge means a human on our team has reviewed at least one piece of documentation submitted by the business owner -- typically a state license, an active certification, or a certificate of insurance.
Verification is NOT an endorsement of work quality. It is not a substitute for asking for references, reading reviews, or checking complaint histories with your state Attorney General.
If we revoke a verification (license expired, document was fraudulent, etc.), the badge is removed within 24 hours of confirmation.
Editorial neutrality
Search rankings are driven by data quality, geographic relevance, and tier (Featured > Pro > Free). We do not accept payment to alter search rankings or to insert businesses into directory pages where they have no legitimate service area.
Featured placement is a paid product, but it is always visually disclosed. A Featured business that does not serve a city will not appear on that city's page.
Sponsored content, if any, is labeled as such on the page where it appears.
Disputes and corrections
If a business owner believes a listing about them is incorrect, they can claim the listing and edit it directly. If the listing should be removed entirely, they can email us through the contact page and we respond within five business days.
If a homeowner believes a listing misrepresents itself, they can report it from the public profile page. We investigate and either correct the data, attach a public note, or remove the listing.
What we will not do
We do not write fake reviews, ghost-write business descriptions, or attach awards/credentials a business has not earned.
We do not provide medical, legal, or remediation advice. The disclaimer on every page makes that explicit.
We do not sell consumer leads exclusively to a single highest bidder. Every homeowner request is matched against up to 20 qualified pros within 50 miles -- consumers always retain control of who they hire.
